Guest post: Visual Studio 2013 install removed CTRL+R toggle functionality in SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio) 2014 for me. But it is easy to get it back. For guidelines please check out:
https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/feedback/details/679651/ssms-ctrl-r-show-hide-results-pane-shortcut-is-missing-on-menu-and-as-functionality
There is a KB link there as well on the problem solving tab. But – If you don’t want to click any further – here are the steps that worked for me:
1) Open SSMS.
2) Go to Tools -> Options.
3) In the left panel click on “Keyboard” for selecting it.
4) Once “Keyboard” is selected in top of the right panel press the “Reset” button.
5) Answer “yes” to the question dialog “Keyboard mappings will reset to their defaults. Continue?”
6) Click OK in the Options dialog.
By the way, it is always good behavior to check Microsoft Connect for status of your problems. And to vote if you like them. And to add one if you cannot find your issue there. That way we can stay top of things by helping each other the SQL Server user way.
